The Butler's Bridge branch is double track throughout. The community it serves is a medium sized town and the extensive passenger, goods and locomotive facilities at the station reflect the diversity of traffic that may be seen on the line. All trains terminate at Butler's Bridge so all workings involve changing and turning of locomotives. In addition to block freight trains, which have to reverse here to access an adjacent mineral line, pick-up goods trains may be seen

Trains on the layout may represent stock running at any time from the 1930's to the present day. Whilst a variety of trains from different eras may be seen, each train is a faithful model with the authentic formation of carriages or wagons.
